Centipede Needs Your Help

Centipede is an out-of-school hours program operating at Glebe Public School, providing an essential service available to all children in the Glebe community. Centipede reflects the diversity of the community, with a large number of families coming from lower socioeconomic households.

How the Glebe Youth Service is supporting our community during COVID

The Glebe Youth Service (GYS) is currently supporting many households affected by COVID-19. Broadway Shopping Centre has set up a Community Donation and Food Drive bin on the ground floor of the shopping centre. Please contribute items for GYS to distribute – a list of suitable items is provided in this article.

Community Development Subcommittee Annual Report 2020-2021

The Community Development Subcommittee maintained a range of activities in collaboration with other community groups during the year, despite restrictions related to COVID-19.

GYS thanks Glebe Society members who donated used laptops to local students needing them for schoolwork during lockdown. Keiran Kevans, Manager Glebe Youth Service, says they will make a big difference to quite a few local young people’s lives.

The NSW government has decided to develop a long overdue social housing policy. They produced a discussion paper on Social Housing in NSW and called for responses.
