August mystery photo
It was the headquarters of the Glebe District Hockey Club in 1960, when rats were a major problem.
Tim Jurd, a Glebe resident from 1953 to 1990, identified the railway viaduct arches near Jubilee Park and the event as a community sport such as hockey.
Julie Byrne narrowed the location to the club; Dorothy Pellarini recognised the players as her brother Brian Howe seated with Barry Goodrick; Maureen Paterson also identified Brian and Andrew Goodrick’s dad plus club patron’s wife Dot Kenny.

Definitely outside the Glebe District Hockey Club @ Jubilee Oval. If you check with the club they can identify the people and date the photo.
This was taken outside the Glebe District Hockey Club Clubhouse (Number 4 Railway Arch) at Jubilee Oval in 1961. Left to right: Brian Howe, obscured, Barry Goodrick, Fran Harris (with cigarette), Geoff Rogers in the stroller, Pat Rogers with her back to the camera, Dot Kenny behind the counter.
Note the billboard sponsored by Coca Cola with soup for 1/- (one shilling), Ecks drinks 10d., Smiths chips 9d. The Clubhouse was first rented by the @Glebe Hockey Club in 1960.
Glebe Hockey Club ..
Jubilee Oval near the arches.
Yes It’s Glebe District Hockey Club under the arches, Jubilee Oval. My brother Brian Howe sitting leaning forward, the other player is Barry Goodrick.
I think it’s Glebe Hockey Club at Jubilee Oval
My assumption is that it is the rail overpass near the cricket oval, near where the mens’ shed is located now. It’s could be a tuck shop set up for an athletic event. The men seated seem to be in light (athletic/ work ?) clothes whereas the other people seem to be dressed for cooler weather.
