Glebe Society Guided Walks 2024
Posted on 28th February 2024Details about the Guided Walks for 2024. A great way to see and learn about Glebe. The year 1974 was a big one for Glebe: the Whitlam government bought the Glebe Estate, protecting it from demolition, and local activists established Australia’s first women’s refuge, Elsie. Each of these events is recognised in upcoming Guided Walks.
NSW Government Planning Proposals
Posted on 28th February 2024Two recent proposals will have impacts on Glebe. ‘Transport Oriented Development’ is for eight priority high growth areas which have been identified for accelerated rezoning. ‘Diverse and Well-Located Homes’ proposes increased densities within 800 metres of light rail stations, mixed use zones and local centres.

Blue Plaque nominations Part 21: Calmar, 128 Glebe Point Road
