POGA (Post Office Glebe Action) needs your help in its campaign to save Glebe Post Office. POGA is a grass roots group that arose in response to Australia Post’s decision to close the Glebe Post Office on 4 February. Members include residents from the northern and southern ends of Glebe, the Glebe Chamber of Commerce, and the Glebe Society.
POGA volunteers are mounting a vigil outside the Post Office with the aim of encouraging people to sign petitions and distributing flyers advertising the rally scheduled for 10 am Thursday (click here to read the leaflet).
Volunteers are needed for 90 minutes shifts on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. If you can spare a few minutes to help in the important campaign please contact Jan Wilson at janwil@bigpond.com indicating the time/s you could help.

We fully support the protest, because we've been frequent users of the
facility, but in the past year we've noticed how quiet it has been ie no
queues. The staff has also commented how they have lost trade, allegedly
because of the lack of parking. But that's nothing new. So, why do we have
this upswelling of emotion? I suggest that Glebe PO has been deserted by
people who protest but don't vote with their feet. It's easy to protest,
harder to put words into action!!
Hopefully, the very positive reaction from Glebites will lead to the PO
surviving, but it obviously needs more patronage to give the franchisees a
living
