By Virginia Simpson-Young, Bulletin 7/2024, September

One of the highlights of my year, the Glebe Art Show, returns to the Harold Park Community Hall, Tramsheds, from Thursday 17 October until Sunday 20 October.

The Glebe Society sponsors the $500 ‘Character of Glebe Prize’. This was won last year by Julie Keech for her watercolour The Three Bridges, Glebe Point Park. All up, nine prizes are in the offing, including the Open Art Prize of $3,000, which I calculate would fund about 10 months’ worth of medium-sized soy lattes (my go-to unit of value). See information about all the prizes and sponsors.

If you would like to submit an artwork, see the website for information for entrants, including guidelines and entry requirements.

September Art Walk

By Glebe Art Society

From 10 am on Sunday 22 September a member of the Glebe Art Show committee will be near the fig trees at the end of Glebe Point Road to welcome you to join other artists drawing and painting along the foreshore.

This is a free event and open to all. Just bring your art materials, find a place, and enjoy the company of other artists – or find a quiet place of your own.

The Glebe Art Society does this twice a year on the Sundays closest to the equinox.
