JP Alexandre has been operating the Glebe Computer Project (GCP) at the Old Fire Station in Mitchell Street for many years. He is stepping down, so we at the GCP are reaching out to the community to boost our volunteer numbers.

Founded 20 years ago, GCP is a grassroots, community-run initiative that is proudly operated entirely by volunteers. GCP continues to provide digital access and support to the community from our eight-computer room at the Old Fire Station (113 Mitchell St Glebe). Our services include:

  • Computer and internet access – only $1 per hour
  • Printing, photocopying and scanning
  • Free, friendly tech help – on our computers or your own device

Our opening hours are Monday to Wednesday, 1–4 pm

We are seeking volunteers to supervise the computer room for just one afternoon a week. No formal IT skills needed – just a willingness to help and a friendly attitude. If you are interested or would like more information, email us at gcpinglebe@gmail.com.
