RJ Williams Lodge (Source: $3m council grant but no affordable homes, Flat Chat, 9 Jul 2025)

Wesley Mission confirms that it is taking the RJ Williams site (274 Glebe Point Rd) in Glebe to market. This decision follows several years of planning and engagement to deliver affordable housing at the site. Despite obtaining the necessary development approvals and investing significantly in project planning, Wesley Mission’s application for Federal government funding through the Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF) was unsuccessful. Alternative funding avenues have also been explored but could not generate the capital required.

Wesley Mission remains firmly committed to addressing homelessness and disadvantage across Sydney, New South Wales and the ACT with the proceeds of any sale will be directed toward that mission.

Wesley Mission thanks the residents, business owners and community of Glebe for their engagement throughout this process and will continue to communicate transparently as the sale progresses.
