Upcoming Guided Walk

Glebe and Forest Lodge wouldn’t be the same if it weren’t for the Glebe Society. Join this walk to see Glebe through the eyes of a long-term Glebe resident.

When: Sunday 11 October, 2-4pm

Meeting Place: Outside the main gates of St Scholastica’s College, corner of Avenue and Arcadia Roads, Glebe.

This is a terrific walk first held in 2022 and led by Ted and Alison McKeown, long term residents and very active members of the Glebe Society.

We are now repeating this walk. It offers an opportunity to hear about and see the impact of the Glebe Society’s various protests and campaigns over 50 years. This walk is especially recommended for those who’ve joined the Glebe Society since our 50th anniversary festival in 2019.

Led by Ted McKeown, we explore the many places and spaces of Glebe and Forest Lodge that the Glebe Society was instrumental in preserving, improving or creating. Along the way we will see heritage landmarks saved from demolition; the foreshore transformed from its industrial past as a working harbour; and sites where battles were won and lost – and much more as well.

Cost: $20 (Glebe Society members), $30 (non-members)
