Glebe Civic Deco Style by Helen Randerson

By Mary Regan, from Bulletin 8 of 2025 (October)

This month Helen Randerson has found some interesting building details in Campbell Street, possibly from the late 1930s–1940s, and in a style not generally associated with Glebe. Helen has coined her own term for this detail: ‘Civic Deco Style’. Thanks, Helen, for your keen eye!

The prize for the photograph judged the overall winner for the year is two free tickets for Glebe Society walks or talks over the next year. The winning photograph will be published in the first edition of the Bulletin next year.

We are keen to see your entries for next month’s Bulletin. For inspiration, send us your best photo of Spring in Glebe, whether it’s flowers in bloom, sunshine in the streets, water sparkling in the Bay!  The closing date for next month’s photo competition is 17 October. Please send your entries to photo-comp@glebesociety.org.au.

To make sure your entry has a chance to be featured, make sure it is a clear high-resolution image and check out the rules on our website.
