By Mary Regan, Bulletin 9/2025, November
We have two photos to share this month. Thanks to Lucie Loane for her black and white ‘Jubilee Park’ scene, and to Stephen Foster for ‘Spring Sunshine’.
Judges’ comments on ‘Jubilee Park’ spoke of enjoyment of a quiet moment, and evocative silhouette with adult and child sharing a tranquil meal by the park, both raising their hands to their mouths in the same captured moment. ‘Spring Sunshine’ has been chosen as the Photo of the Month, with morning sunlight shining softly through one of our beautiful old fig trees, and the pathway leading us around to the Anzac Bridge, and the Harbour Bridge in the distance. With this photo Stephen will go into the running for the overall Photo of the Year.

The prize for the photograph judged the overall winner for the year is two free tickets for Glebe Society walks or talks over the next year. The winning photograph will be published in the first edition of the Bulletin next year.
We are keen to see your entries for next month’s Bulletin. Jacarandas are bursting into bloom all over Sydney and Glebe has some wonderful specimens, so for photo inspiration, send us your best jacaranda shot! Any other subject also welcome.
The closing date for next month’s photo competition is Friday 21 November. Please send your entries to photo-comp@glebesociety.org.au. To make sure your entry has a chance to be featured, make sure it is a clear high-resolution image, preferably sized 4 x 5 or 5 x 7, and check out the rules on our website: https://glebesociety.org.au/in-focus-photo-comp-rules/
