David Laidley identified last month’s picture as taken on the balcony of Glebe Town Hall. Visible on St Johns Rd in the background are two houses of worship: St Johns Bishopthorpe and the now-demolished Methodist Church. The photograph was taken by professional photographer, Sam Hood, in 1935.
