Many of you will know Maureen Cahill, long-time active member of the Glebe Society and owner of the Glass Artists’ Gallery on Glebe Point Road. Maureen contacted me after reading Brian Fuller’s article, Our Main Street – Glebe Point Road, in last month’s Bulletin (Bulletin 9/2024). She thought members might like to read about her recent initiative, the Creative Enclave, which she hopes is helping to revitalise our main street.
Maureen opened the street-level, shopfront Glass Artists’ Gallery in 1982. In recent years, Maureen has operated Glass Artists’ from the upstairs gallery, allowing for independent businesses at street level. This has now resulted in a unique combination of creative studios that complement each other.
Together, the three studios at 68-70 Glebe Point Road form the Creative Enclave. As well as Maureen’s Glass Artists’ Gallery, the Creative Enclave hosts the studios Scribes and Beyond and Blue&Blue. See below for more information about these studios, and have a look at their websites, which are quite beautiful and very interesting!
