‘Love Your Park’, a local community arts initiative
Come and join other local Glebe residents decorate the MJ Dougherty Reserve in Mitchell Street, Glebe on Sunday 20th February.
You will have read in the October/November edition of the Glebe Society Bulletin that the Glebe Society co-sponsored a community arts project known as ‘Love Your Park’ together with the City of Sydney Council. Through this project local residents have come together to create and decorate over 100 tiles which have now been fired and are ready for attaching to the bare concrete walls of the park.
Whilst we hoped to complete this project late last year the final day’s effort was held over and is now taking place on Sunday 20 February between 11.00am and 3.00pm. One this day we will be gathering in the Reserve to help attach the tiles and celebrate the wonderful art that has been created by local children and adults alike.
Feel free to come and give a hand on the day and share the bbq lunch which will be provided. See the flyer for further information including the address of the MJ Dougherty Reserve.
