Many Glebe residents received a letter from the City of Sydney during the past week, requesting their input into the plan to upgrade St James Park, at Woolley Street, Forest Lodge.  The letter from council included the following:

Have your say on improving St James Park
The City of Sydney is committed to making sure our residents have access to excellent local parks and playgrounds. In 2010 we provided new playgrounds for your area – in Victoria Park playground and Wood Street parklands – and we opened a revitalised Foley Park on Glebe Point Road.
This letter is to inform you about another exciting park upgrade project in Glebe.
St James Park in Woolley Street, Glebe, features a playground and tennis courts, and we are investigating improvements to the park to deal with:
  • Overshadowing and poor grass quality;
  • Limited usable park space and tired playground equipment; and
  • Improved environmental sustainability and recreation facilities.
We would like to hear your ideas for improving this park and invite you to talk with our team at St James Park on Saturday, 19 February 2011.
Please visit us in the park between 10am and 12 noon to have your say.
