All are welcome – members’ family, your close friends and neighbours. Beckett’s are opening on a Tuesday night – just for the Glebe Society.

Beckett’s is Glebe’s new mid-century New York and Parisian inspired restaurant and cocktail lounge – launched to great acclaim in March this year. We are now being welcomed back to this fabulous location as Sydney re-opens. This is your opportunity to experience Beckett’s at our Christmas Gathering!

You may know that Jeff Schroeter (from Bayswater Brasserie, Bistro Moncur) has teamed up with local Playwright-Director Wendy Beckett (Claudel) to create the new brasserie, located on the site of the former Darling Mills space on Glebe Point Rd, adding to the inner western suburb’s recent food revival. Jeff and Wendy are inviting us to enjoy Beckett’s.

A Christmas pooch

The sandstone interiors from Darling Mills days remain. As for the rest of the space, Wendy Beckett has enlisted her set designer to channel mid-century New York and Europe’s great bistros and cocktail bars of the past, creating a setting that’s moody, yet elegant. The refreshed design includes an olive velvet-lined colonnade.

The lounge bar is in the front of Beckett’s; one side a mix of plush low cocktail chairs, banquette seating and small bar tables, the other bookended by a baby grand piano and the bar itself.

Book now to avoid missing out. Online bookings are essential and numbers are limited. Please note that NSW COVID safe regulations will apply. You will need to provide proof of double vaccination or exemption and by booking you agree to follow the standard protocols.

Contribute to our Christmas Giving Tree

Your generosity would again be appreciated in bringing unwrapped personal care items to be used in local community Christmas gift packs.
