  • Glebe Voices – Brooke Green, musician – 25th May (Posted on May 17, 2013)
    Brooke Green, early music specialist, composer, and director of Josie and the Emeralds, will present at Glebe Voices, at 4.30 p.m. till 6.00 p.m. on Saturday 25th May, at Ombretta Restaurant (formerly La Tavolaccia) 355 Glebe Point Road. The development of the viol (viola da gamba) will be traced from its medieval origins to the early 17th century. A forerunner to the viol, the vielle, will be demonstrated and some contemporary works for viol consort will be introduced.

  • Glebe Voices – Tranby Aboriginal College – 8th July (Posted on May 17, 2013)
    Tranby Aboriginal College in Mansfield Street is Australia’s oldest Indigenous education provider, operating for some 55 years. A not-for-profit co-operative, the College has seen thousands of students graduate and go on to make lasting changes in their lives and those of their families and communities. Darlene Hoskins-Mackenzie, Interim Chair of the Board of Directors, will lead a Glebe Voices session at the College during NAIDOC week and introduce the work of the College and its plans for the future including strengthening ties with the local community.   • Melina (Galluzzo) Lane naming ceremony – 5th May (Posted on April 16, 2013)
    To remember Melina Galluzzo, a well known and loved member of the Glebe community, who worked in Galluzzo’s Fruit Market for over 50 years, the Glebe Community Action Group initiated a project to name the lane just off Campbell Street between St. Johns Road and Norton Street, ‘Melina Lane’. City of Sydney Council has approved this naming. Join us for the official naming of ‘Melina Lane’ on Sunday 5 May, 2013 from 2 - 3pm

  • Blue Wrens planting day in Paddy Gray Reserve – 21st April (Posted on April 16, 2013)
    To celebrate Earth Day on Sunday 21st April, the Glebe Society’s Blue Wren Group, in conjunction with Glebe Bushcare & the City of Sydney is holding a small bird habitat creation event at Paddy Gray Reserve, between Hereford Street & Wigram Lane, Glebe (just down from Walsh Avenue) from 10 am until noon.
